Erbium:YAG Laser in Washington, DC
Erbium: YAG lasers emit extremely short pulses of infrared energy (2940nm) during treatment. This wavelength targets water, allowing for precise tissue ablation (vaporization) without surrounding heat damage. Tissue studies published by our center show that these lasers remove very precise thin layers of skin or tissue with each pass (pulse). In effect this laser behaves similar to a dermabrasion device with significantly more control in the removal of skin layers. The Erbium laser is used in a variety of treatments, including skin resurfacing, lesion removal, tattoo removal, and scar reduction.
